Warts

Warts are benign lesions induced by viruses that, after having penetrated the skin, cause an excessive replication by inducing the local thickening of the skin and acquisition of the characteristic appearance. Transmission occurs by direct contact, usually in crowded places like showers, gyms and swimming pools, where the hot and humid climate favors the survival of the virus in its active form. Warts can develop in any area of the body, although more often they locate in specific areas (such as the hands, feet). They affect between 7% and 10% of the population both male and female.
